When ecommerce is the heart of your business, integration with your ERP and back-of-office functions is key. With NetSuite's SuiteCommerce you can have that unification, and with Alloy you can provide the customer experience that your brand aspires to deliver.
NetSuite, founded in 1998, was among the pioneers of the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model of delivering applications. It provides a collection of applications that handle all aspects of running a business — accounting, ERP and supply chain management, customer relationship management (CRM), business automation, and more recently ecommerce services. Uniquely at the time of its founding, it provided all these services as a hosted application, as opposed to the on-premises infrastructure required by its competitors.
Integrations
We first worked with NetSuite in the early 2000s at companies who were customers of NetSuite's services. The integrated, end-to-end solution was a great value to small businesses priced out of the high-end market with providers like Oracle and SAP.
Building ecommerce sites on NetSuite or integrating existing sites with NetSuite is easily accomplished in a way that provides value to the customer and the business.
Customer Experience
Creating a tight customer experience — one that is shopable and usable — is the first job of an ecommerce site. Our team is focused on that customer experience and using the tools provided to create it.
NetSuite Ecommerce Products
NetSuite offers two e-commerce products — NetSuite Site Builder and SuiteCommerce.
NetSuite Site Builder
Netsuite's initial e-commerce offering, Site Builder, is a basic ecommerce platform with limited flexibility. Site Builder is template-based and focused on the fundamentals of ecommerce.
NetSuite SuiteCommerce
NetSuite has made a tremendous investment in its next generation product, SuiteCommerce Advanced. Built with modern front-end development practices and backed by NetSuite's robust data model, SCA allows complete freedom for front-end presentation and user experience. The direct integration with supply chain, accounting, and fulfillment provides tremendous cost savings and value.
NetSuite SuiteCommerce Advanced has its own challenges. The service does not provide many features you might expect, and requires custom development to craft a great customer experience. Additionally, the search engine optimization of an SCA site is an advanced project in itself. While NetSuite continues to invest and make progress at filling these gaps, potential customers of NetSuite SCA should be aware of the investment required.
